TWE/MM – FTE 1 – Sr. Java Architect
- 10+ years experience architecting, developing, deploying and supporting complex computing applications in a large scale environment
- Experience developing and architecting object-orientated applications using one or more of the following programming languages: Java, J2EE, Spring, Struts, Hibernate,
- Demonstrated proficiency in designing distributed applications in which multiple operating systems, languages, and vendor middleware interoperate.
- Proven experience on enterprise systems integration projects
- UML expertise e.g. Statecharts, Class Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Component Diagrams and experience with the Rational Software Architect or Rational Software Modeler
- Ability to apply design concepts layered architectures, components, interfaces, messaging and patterns.
- Ability to lead a group through an architectural development process and collaborate with application development teams, architects and other members of the software development team.
- Ability to discover and define technical requirements
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required. Strong collaboration and facilitation skills are required
- Use of Service Oriented Architectures in high volume transaction environments
- Demonstrated experience in taking the high level enterprise strategy and blueprints and converting into system level deliverables for delivery
- Demonstrated technical leadership and interpersonal skills and experience
- Demonstrated planning, analytical, problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of project life cycle methodology (agile, waterfall) and procedures in building and supporting large complex systems
- Demonstrated experience in working with various geographically diverse associates and vendor partners
- Demonstrated on-time and on-budget system delivery skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale distributed systems using message queues, SOA and related technologies
- Demonstrated experience in designing and building systems for high availability, security, scalability and high volume transactions
- Demonstrated experience in using Rational Toolsets (Requisite Pro, Clear Case, Clear Quest, Rational Design, RAD, RSA, RSM) to deliver systems.
- Demonstrated experience with application servers and corresponding development tools, build tools, and configuration management practices
- Demonstrated experience in Test Driven Development using test frameworks
- Demonstrated experience in data modeling, database design and working with RDBMS like Oracle and/or SQL Server
- Experience with rules engine(s) and/or work-flow tools is a big plus
